Aquaculture in our ABCCA Village. (Rearing fish in the pond)

Commercially, Aim Born Champions Children Africa is greatly expanding our projects in Agriculture and Livestock.

We have advanced our projects and now through the donations earned from our dear sponsors and donors, we have now managed to start the practice of rearing fish in the ponds.

We are digging the ponds and we are making sure that fish is grown for food and income generation in the aim to support the goals of our ABCCA communities.

One of the pond is ready and tomorrow we are going to put in 500 fish in the first pond. We are now on the move as we dig another pond of 20*25 feets. And I will keep the updates on to let you know when the pond is ready and the number of fish that will be placed in there. This is a project that Aim Born Champions Children Africa would like to teach the community especially to the youths and parents who would like to do business and earn a better living in their future. This will help many young students to learn and put the lessons in practice...

But there is a situation whereby the weather is too hot (summer), here when the water level is getting law and no water is available to feed the pond, we then have to pump the water from another water source. But this the condition now is very hard for such a situation to happen. I will keep updates with specific pictures and videos of how…

Thank you so much Rachel for this good question. With a pond, here we constructed our pond in a swamp that has creeks.. so we provided the pond with a pipe line with a net that filters water from a flowing creek to the pond as I will show it to you in the posts that I will make in the future. The flowing creek is stoped from allowing the flowing water in its direction then through the pipe to the pond. When the water is full in the pond at the level which I want, we then close the pipe and allow the water in the specific creek to flow in its original direction. I will capture a video of this and…

Joseph, how are these ponds lined to prevent water from being lost to the ground? And how did you get the water into the ponds?
