With God, All Things Are Possible

Alupa Elian was born deaf mute. Because of this condition, he has never been to school. His mother died giving birth to his sister, Patience. His father died last year in a car accident. He and his sister now live with their grandmother, Nabirye Mariam. Mariam is crippled from a fall last year. Elian is 16 years old. You can imagine that a lot of responsibility falls on this young man.

One can imagine this young man watching the other children as they begin their journey to school. He probably did a lot of dreaming about learning the very same things his sister does. To be able to read, to write, and to do math: these are the dreams he has probably had.

Elian no longer has to dream of learning. Elian has finally started school at Kamuli Parents Primary School. Thanks to generous sponsors who have seen the need and heard the call from the Lord to help him. Praise be to God, Elian will learn.

This week, Alupa Elian, made his journey with members of ABCCA to the school in which he will attend as long as sponsors can support him.

This week a young man quit dreaming about learning and began living that dream.

With God, we believe all things are possible. How wonderful that this is the very motto of the school!
